Pre-Apprentice Community Health Worker
Part-Time · Hybrid (Riverside, CA) · 3–4 Month Federal Pre-Apprenticeship
Position Summary
All Hours Adult Care (AHAC), a subsidiary of Connect Community Access, is seeking motivated individuals to join our workforce development initiative as Pre-Apprentice Community Health Workers. This position is designed to provide structured hands-on learning, mentoring, competency development, and practical experience through AHAC's Federal Pre-Apprenticeship Program.
The Pre-Apprenticeship serves as a structured guided workforce development pathway over approximately three to four months. During this period, participants develop foundational Community Health Worker competencies through supervised work experience, coaching, mentoring, and competency-based learning while both the participant and the organization assess readiness for long-term employment.
Successful completion of the Pre-Apprenticeship Program may provide participants the opportunity to transition into a full-time, one-year U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship with All Hours Adult Care, subject to successful performance, organizational needs, funding availability, and program eligibility. Transition into the Registered Apprenticeship Program is not guaranteed. This approach aligns with the organization's competency-based workforce development strategy and provides participants with a structured guided workforce development pathway toward a career in community health.
Compensation:
All Hours Adult Care (AHAC), a subsidiary of Connect Community Access, reasonably expects to pay between $18.00 and $25.00 per hour for this position. Actual compensation will depend on education, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Support community outreach activities and health education initiatives
- Assist individuals in accessing healthcare and community resources
- Help connect clients with health, behavioral health, housing, nutrition, transportation, and social service resources
- Participate in supervised client outreach, home visits, community events, and educational workshops
- Assist with participant enrollment and follow-up activities
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation using electronic systems
- Collect and enter program and community data
- Support care coordination efforts with healthcare providers and community partners
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational privacy requirements
- Provide excellent customer service to clients, families, and community partners
- Assist with administrative duties including phones, correspondence, and documentation

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Valid CA Driver License and reliable transportation preferred
- Ability to pass applicable background screening
- Basic computer skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in community organizations, healthcare, behavioral health, or human services
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with electronic documentation systems is desireable
- Knowledge of Riverside County community resources is a plus

- Ability to travel locally throughout Riverside County for outreach activities

Career Pathway
This position serves as the entry point into All Hours Adult Care's Federal Pre-Apprenticeship Program and provides participants with a guided workforce development pathway toward becoming a Community Health Worker Registered Apprentice.
Participants who successfully complete the Pre-Apprenticeship evaluation period and demonstrate the required competencies may be considered for:
Full-Time Community Health Worker - Regsitered Apprentice
Successful candidates will be offered:
- Full-time employment with All Hours Adult Care
- Enrollment into the organization's U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Program
- A structured, one-year competency-based apprenticeship with progressive wage increases, related technical instruction, and supervised o n-the-job learning, consistent with the approved apprenticeship standards.
Selection for the Registered Apprenticeship is contigent upon successful completion of the pre-apprenticeship, organizational needs, funding availability, and satisfaction of all apprenticeship eligibility requirements.
